Rejuvenate Your Figure and Lift Your Spirits With A Breast Lift

Breast augmentation surgery remains a very popular elective surgery, not just in the U.S. but in the world. Women of all ages are opting to beautify their décolletage. But trending and growing in popularity as well, is Breast Lift Surgery, also known as mastopexy. New statistics from the American Society of Plastic Surgeons show that breast lifts have grown 70% since 2000, outpacing breast implants two to one.

It’s true…your breasts change over time. The aging process, heredity, childbearing, breastfeeding and significant weight loss can all contribute to your breasts changing their position, becoming lower on your chest and unfortunately, sagging. If you would like to take years off of your appearance and are are considering a breast lift, read on.

What does a breast lift do?

  • A breast lift does not utilize implants, significantly change the size of your breasts and does not round out the upper part of your breast.
  • A breast lift raises and firms your breasts by removing excess skin and tightening the surrounding tissue to reshape and support the new contours of your breasts.
  • Your breast tissue is elevated which creates a more youthful appearance.
  • The symmetry of your breasts is also improved, resulting in a more pleasing shape to your breasts.

During a breast lift, incisions are made around your areola, from the bottom edge of your areola to the crease underneath your breast, and beneath your breast. The skin is then tightened, excess skin is removed and the incisions are closed with tiny sutures. After Dr. Dunn has removed your excess breast skin, your nipples and areolas are moved to a higher position but remain attached to underlying tissue, which usually preserves their sensation and the ability to breastfeed.

Recovery takes approximately one week, however, you may remain sore for several weeks following surgery.

As with any surgical procedure, you should be in good overall health and may be asked to have a baseline mammogram prior to surgery.

Call for a consultation appointment with Dr. Dunn, today. Don’t wait to experience more youthful breasts! (508) 334-5990.
