Dr. Douglas Rothkopf is the Interim Chief of the Plastic Surgery Residency Program at the University of Massachusetts Medical School. He also serves as a Professor of Surgery.
Dr. Rothkopf’s practice spans the full spectrum of plastic surgery — from breast enhancements, facelifts and tummy tucks to cleft lip and hand surgery. Every year since 2004, he has been named by the Best Doctors® organization as a leading plastic surgeon.
Dr. Rothkopf is a graduate of Amherst College and the New York University School of Medicine. He completed his residency in surgery at the Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical School. He then went on to fellowship training in plastic surgery at the University of Pennsylvania and hand and microsurgery at Massachusetts General Hospital. He has been in practice at UMass Memorial since 1988.
He is board certified in plastic surgery and hand surgery. He is also a member of numerous plastic surgery societies, including:
- New England Society of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeons (past president)
- American Association of Plastic Surgeons
- American Society of Plastic Surgeons
- American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery
Since 1991, Dr. Rothkopf has led annual volunteer medical missions to Ecuador, where he and his team perform cleft lip and palate surgeries, as well as hand surgeries for congenital deformities and burns.
