A chemical peel is a great way to refresh your facial skin – it can make a huge difference in the way your skin feels and looks. Peels are popular with our patients because they are fast, effective, non-invasive and easy. If you’ve considered trying a chemical peel and are curious to learn more, continue reading. We specialize in providing our patients with youthful, glowing, skin. Chemical peels accomplish those things using a chemical solution to smooth the texture of your facial skin.
We offer three peel formulations: alphahydroxy acid (AHA), trichloroacetic acid (TCA) and phenol. Our peels are designed to achieve the most optimum results possible with the least amount of down time. Each type of peel is different; each is designed to improve and enhance your skin.
What happens during a peel?
During your peel, your skin will feel warm. You may also feel slight stinging, or burning. After your peel, your skin will feel a bit dry and tight, and may be red for an hour or so. Your skin will be sensitive to the sun, so you must apply a sunscreen of at least 30 SPF.
Renewing your skin and reviving how you feel about yourself are two great reasons to schedule a chemical peel. Here are six more:
- Correct surface aging problems
- Remove sun spots, freckles, and blotches
- Increase the production of collagen
- Un-clog pores
- Improve minor acne scars and treat existing acne
- Reduce fine lines
